Hold on… An ‘invitation only’ summer program? What is that all about?! There must still be a way I can enroll or sign up, right? Not a chance! The graffiti camp is an exclusive program created to give my year-round students an opportunity to challenge themselves in a special and unique way. This camp was specifically created to give my year-round students an opportunity to be challenged in a larger way. The child needs to create something of their choosing on paper and not only show me that their ideas are good, but to demonstrate they are able to paint the image on the wall in a larger scale. It is a very challenging endeavor as they work outside under the sun working with thicker outdoor paints and tricky surfaces that can be either wood, a floor tile, brick or cinder blocks depending on where their skill sets are.
