Fashion and Design Camp - A Summer Only Program
The fashion and design summer camp is a great opportunity for kids to explore something new. The fashion and design camps give the students a wonderful week to be able to make themselves something unique and be prove of their creations.
The kids are required to sketch out an idea of the item they would like to create, and they have one week to complete it, whether it be a garment for themselves or a bag or a stuffed animal. The kids work very hard to get it all done while enjoying funny conversations and making new friends.
Once the kids have created their sketches, the group shares with me what they want to make and we speak about what would be the correct fabric to use before starting. I have many fabrics at the studio for the kids to use but some kids just like to bring their own. I always encourage them to be independent little creatives which is exciting for them as they get to go shopping for fabrics which is an experience to be had. The kids will learn how to measure their patterns and how to cut the patterns out before cutting the fabric. They will learn both hand stitching and how to use the sewing machines and by the end of the week the kids are generally able to finish one garment or item for themselves.

Fashion and Design Camp - 2026 Schedule
June 1st - 5th
Ages 6 - 9 @ 10am - 11:30am
Ages 10 and above @ 12pm - 1:30pm
July 13th - 17th
Ages 6 - 9 @ 10am - 11:30am

Cost of Camp
Fashion and Design Camp Cost $175
Registration fee $25 per child
Please note you only pay one registration fee per child to enjoy any of the 2026 Summer Camps at Alicia’s Creative Art Studio.

What We Provide / What You Must Supply
What We Will Provide
We provide fabrics for the students that have been donated to the studio. The kids are most welcome to use any of these fabrics if they like them. There are also a few sewing machines and a large sewing kit for kids to use in the event they forget their kits.
What You Must Supply
You must supply your own sewing kit so the students can get the most out of the class. Your sewing kit should include:
fabric scissors
all-purpose thread (for sewing machines)
needles
pins
fabric
It is important for all students to have their own sewing kit as this develops independence and responsibility. The students quickly realize that they are constantly needing their items especially when they get started in putting things together which will allow each child to utilize the full time of the class and be more efficient without trying to find where everything has gone. Things go missing very quickly and having your own sewing kit makes the class run more smoothly.
