The Studio
My name is Alicia and I am the founder and teacher at Alicia’s Creative Art Studio Inc. I studied at Suny - NY where I received my master’s degree in fine arts in 2001.
I started teaching in my early 20s and realized that I loved working with kids, so I decided to open up my own art studio back in 2015. But before taking that step I taught out of my home and when the time was right, I sold my home and bought the studio that I have now. The kids love it and so do I and over the years we have managed to paint on every wall inside and outside and even on the floors!
I often say that
“Every step taken defines who we ultimately become.”
And
“Learning is not difficult, but the willingness to learn is.”
My mission at the studio is to build confident creative young-minded people who understand the valuable lessons they learn while at the studio and go on to help others. I am very much about ‘paying it forward’ as it is our duty as individuals to pass on the acquired knowledge which has been accumulated in one’s life journey.
My vision is to be able to teach willing children and to see them develop into strong confident young people. For me it’s not about buying a larger studio or buying a larger home to live in, but to build kids into phenomenal humans and see them achieve in life when they leave my studio.
A lot of people often ask me about my philosophy about teaching and how I run my studio. I always say, “I believe that anyone can do it if they are willing.” When a person is willing, they become unstoppable as mentally there are no longer any barriers holding them back. Most kids walk into my studio with mental barriers and in the first month of working with them, my soul purpose is to slowly break those barriers down. Once the child allows me to do that then the willingness to learn begins and I must say it is my favorite time, as that is when I see the child grow in skills and in their confidence. The kids just want to feel like they can do it and feel loved and heard. I try very hard to provide this experience to all my students and the students who stay with me for many years develop a lot of confidence in themselves and acquire many valuable skills.
Over the many years of teaching, people have recognized my work with the children, and I have been interviewed by multiple magazines including ‘Who’s Who in America’ and The Naperville Magazine. I was approached by the Naperville Magazine in 2025 during the summer while biking back home from the studio. The day was beautiful and the interview couldn’t have gone better, full of laughter, the Naperville Magazine wanted to add my studio to their line up so more families in the surrounding area could be aware of its charm and quality classes that I offer. And just recently I was contacted by Who’s Who in America wanting to get to know me and what I stand for. In speaking to them they very quickly acknowledged all the wonderful things I bring to the community and will make me a part of their line up too. So, I’m very honored to be acknowledged and hope to continue to produce incredible young people.
I have also previously showcased the kid’s art at Babam-back Alley Boba & Market for the last 5 years, where it was situated in Downtown Wheaton, IL. The cafe was where many of my young and older students have shown and sold their artwork. It was an incredible experience for the students to get to that level where they could earn money selling their artwork to the community while learning at the studio. When the cafe opened, they approached the studio asking for a few of my students to paint a wall mural for them and we were so excited to do it. They loved what the kids did based on what the owner asked for and went on to ask for some window covers to be designed and painted. I selected a few of my students to take on the job and they created the window covers of which one sold immediately. The cafe was so pleased with the work and were continuously asking for more art to be displayed. I also got my little young students to get involved and it’s so cute to see their reactions when their artwork sold, it immediately boosted their confidence. So, I must say that the Babam-back Alley Boba & Market Cafe and Alicia’s Creative Art Studio established a great relationship over the years and I will always be so thankful for everything we accomplished over the 5 years working together. It was such a beautiful experience of growth for myself and the studio, but now the kids will be creating art to be sold on our new website. So please explore and reach out if something grabs you!
